About the event
The aim of Fafa Ark Foundation (FAF) is to work with, and for the community. In addition, FAF wants to motivate the youth and adults to be active in the community and become role model for all townships around. for example, we filled the two biggest pot-holes on the streets to the beach in Tegbi-Kpota, which were impediments for vehicles and pedestrians after every rainfall. The water often stagnated in the pot-holes for days, germ-infested, and also become the breeding ground for mosquitoes.
We organised the youth in Tegbi-Kpota to help fill those pot-holes with stones and sand. The project began 6 a.m. in the morning. The youth organised themselves a trolley, in which they collected stones. We broke the bigger stones into pieces. The joy was huge as we got support from a group of adults, who helped us with their pick-up. They brought loads of stones and sand and helped to quicken the project. We sang and laughed a lot. Everyone was happy about the project, very patient and a lot of people gave the workers some money.
Furthermore, a journalist from a local radio station, Jubilie, in Keta came by. Our project was broadcasted for two days! We filled both pot-holes within five hours and everyone had lunch in between at Rosalin´s, who sells delicious food at the main road. we were able to pay for the food for 23 people, the rent of the trolley, as well as for drinking water for everyone from the money of Sonett´s fund-raising campaign for our Project Fafa Ark Foundation (FAF). The project was successful. The good road will attracts more tourists to drive to the beautiful beach at Tegbi-Kpota, and also buy products from the local street vendors.
Many thanks for your donations in March 2019!
